Hi
I purchased the January Software Upgrade sometime ago and it installed fine the first time. Today, after I did a ipod restore, the applications that came with the January upgrade did not sync back to my ipod.
There is also no technical help on this at your website. Would appreciate if you could advise a remedy expeditiously. Thank you.
2. Their reply
Hello Koh,
I hope your day is going well so far. I am so sorry to read that your January software upgrade didn't sync back to your iPod after restoring it. I can certainly understand your concern over this matter and I am sure you would like this resolved as soon as possible. My name is Brittany and I would be more than happy to look into this for you today.
I apologize for the inconvenience, but I am unable to add the software back to your account.
The iTunes Store is not responsible for the loss of purchases and encourages customers to back up their hard disks regularly. If an item needs to be replaced, you can restore your purchases from the backup and avoid the need to purchase replacement copies of titles from your collection.
Additionally, please make back up copies of your new purchases on a regular basis. These articles explain the backup process:

To learn more about purchasing on the iTunes Store, choose "iTunes Help" from the pull-down Help menu in iTunes. Click "Purchasing music, video, and more" on the right.
The iTunes Store Terms of Sale is available for your review at: http://www.apple.com/legal/itunes/us/sales.html
The only thing I can suggest is to purchase the iPhone software upgrade for the iPod. This software includes all apps from the january upgrade as well as the new updates.
Again, I am so sorry to hear that this has happened to you Koh and I hope everything works out. Hopefully this answers your concerns and if you have any other questions please let me know. Please take care.
Cheers!

3. My counter
Hi Brittany,
I would like to thank you for your reply and apology. However, as a loyal supporter of Apple products for the last 5 years, and even more so with your company's reputation as a global business, I would like to appeal for Apple to re-add my already purchased software for me to download one more time, which as stated below, might be of a better help while I give due consideration of purchasing your latest upgrade.
If you've looked through this account's records, you would have realized that this is my first purchase using your online iTunes store and would like this experience to be a great one. I hope you will be able to accede to my sincere request.
Regards, Koh
4. THEIR FINAL AND ANNNOYING REPLY
Hi Koh,
My name is Denise, and I'm glad to be able to respond to you, on behalf of Brittany, who has a few well-deserved days off.
Unfortunately, as Brittany stated, we no longer offer the iPod Touch January Software Upgrade, and have no way to post it back to your account.
The only way to get this is to purchase the new iPhone 2.0. [WHAT KIND OF STUPID ADVICE IS THIS. BUY A NEW IPHONE. :l]
This update includes many enhancements for Mail, Contacts, and Calendars, as well as support for MobileMe, Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync, new languages, a scientific calculator, and more. This update also includes all January Software Update applications and features as well as the App Store for purchasing applications on iPod touch over Wi-Fi.
All customers who want to get these features on an iPod touch will need to purchase the upgrade for $9.95.
I apologize that I am unable to assist with this matter. I hope that this does not stop you from enjoying our iTunes Store.
Have a great day!
Sincerely,
Denise iTunes Store Customer Support
